Americans & Their Giving: A New Survey article by Jack Brooks Executive Director

The Giving USA Foundation and the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, recently released their annual look at philanthropy in the United States, a survey done annually since 1956. The news for 2011 gives a snapshot of both the landscape of charitable donations and America’s generosity.

Clark Grant to Provide Small Church Funding

The Mid-Atlantic United Methodist Foundation has announced a matching grant initiative for small churches in the Eastern Pennsylvania Annual Conference. The program is being made possible through the generous support of the Frank E. Clark Charitable Trust.

Jack Brooks, the Executive Director of the Foundation, was excited to receive the recent news of the grant.  “We are honored the trustee’s of the Clark Trust approved the funding our request” said Brooks.  “We feel this can help support a number of ministry programs by raising needed funds during this challenging economy.”

Three conferences approve merger to form new foundation




The newly formed Mid-Atlantic United Methodist Foundation, with assets approaching $60 million, is poised to help churches grow their mission and ministry.

The Foundation was created by merger of two former foundations – Eastern Pennsylvania/Peninsula and Baltimore-Washington UM Foundations.  The merger was approved by vote of the Eastern Pennsylvania, Peninsula-Delaware, and Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference, and since its effective date of July 1, 2010, serves the three annual conferences with stewardship and investment services.
